THE COLOURS OF AUTUMN
12 week course
Join us for a fascinating series of classroom and in-the-field lessons where you will learn the techniques that professional wildlife photographers use to capture stunning images of plants and animals. From the golden light of harvest time to the first frosts of late fall, you will have great opportunities to capture the special light of a Manitoba autumn.
Topics covered include: finding the “right light”, getting close to the animals, wildlife behavior, creative use of filters, High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography techniques for the outdoors, macro plant and insect photography, equipment choices for wildlife photography and much more.
Q. DO I NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR THIS CLASS?
A. While just about any camera and lens can be used to get great shots of the fall colours, textures and wildlife, it is best to bring a DSLR or SLR with film along. For lenses, try to bring a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens (or a zoom lens that covers a wide range). If you have a macro lens, all the better! A tripod and cable release is always a good idea for nature and wildlife shots so you should bring them along as well if you can. Keep in mind that we will be going on a few field trips during this class, so consider bringing a good camera bag and extra clothes in case of cooler weather.
