Q. DO I NEED AN SLR/DSLR TO TAKE CLASSES?

A. In order to take full advantage of courses and to participate in all the hands-on activities, we strongly recommend bringing an SLR/DSLR to class each week.

If you do not own one yet, see if you can borrow one from a friend or family member for the first few classes. That way, when you do go shopping for a camera you will have a better idea of the kinds of features you like to have.

Q. IS MY CAMERA A DSLR?

A. SLR type cameras have interchangable lenses. It should say in your manual or on the camera box. If in doubt, check the Wikipedia article on DSLR cameras or try a Google search on the camera model you own.

Q. WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF CAMERA GEAR?

A. We keep a high ratio of teachers to students: Photography 1 is capped at 16 students per class while all other courses and workshops are capped at 12 students per class. Whenever possible, we will create overflow sessions for classes that fill.
